MSR 2 is Here!
Welcome to the new look Manx Sail Racer, still dedicated to bringing you the latest news and information from Manx Sailing. It was just 3 years ago that MSR was formed as an idea to try and bring together the information, results and news on the islands sail racing. Over that time the website has gone from strength to strength and been filled with photos and race news provided by numerous island yacht club members and supporters of the MSR ethos. The MSR brand has also slowly developed over this time and I am delighted to say still acts as a primary portal to people on and off the island as a way in to getting information on Manx Sailing.
With this in mind we have been keen at MSR to ensure that the website and feel remains fresh so we have delivered a new look to it for 2009, along with the new layout we hope to continue to provide some more varied coverage of the sailing on the island and include some new aspects to manx sail racing.
MSR could not have developed or continued without the help of its contributors and supporters who provide race reports and information on their clubs and events. As much as I would like, it is unfortunately almost impossible for me to provide coverage directly at every event and the information from the regular MSR contributors is much appreciated and I hope will continue with the new MSR.
The original MSR ethos was to develop a single Manx Sail Racing community under one banner, openly sharing information and news on how the sailing on the Isle of Man could be improved to encourage increased fleets and excellent racing, for a small island surrounded by sea with 5 yacht clubs the Dinghy and Cruiser racing scene should be booming!
As always, if you have any thoughts or ideas on sail racing on the island; articles or developments for MSR; if you would like to be a MSR contributor and have some great ideas on a new feature; have photos you would like to submit or just want to have your say on a Manx Sail Racing matter, either contact MSR directly, comment on a recent main article or ideally become a member of the forum and have your say.
Remember on the new MSR you can personalise your website comments with your picture, just sign up for free to Gravatar, upload a picture you want to use on MSR and then when you put your email address in to your comment your picture will pop up!
Thanks for your support
