MS & CC IT Works Races 1 & 2

Report thanks to Angus Jolly

Ten boats arrived on the start line for the first two races of Manx Sailing and Cruising Club’s IT Works series. The conditions were light and shifty giving plenty of opportunities for place swapping for those canny enough to take advantage. Andrew and Katie Dean, hot on the heels of their recent success in the WI-Manx Series) dominated both races in their RS200, with Yogi Quayle (3rd, 2nd) in hot pursuit in his Finn. The conditions didn’t seem to suit the Laser fleet quite so well, but the racing in that fleet was very close, no doubt enhanced by knowledge gained from the Laser Academy training over the weekend. Simon Pressley sailed superbly to take 3rd and 4th, after close duels with Mike Pridham (7th, 4th) and Ralph Kee (5th, 6th)
Thanks to Keith Poole and Barbara Jolly for acting as Race officers (and setting two very good courses) and Mark Corrin and Donald Edwards for keeping the fleet safe!
