Next stop, the 2007 IOM Dinghy Championships
Next event on the dinghy calender is the Islands premier dinghy event, the IOM Championships which take place on the weekend of the 25th and 26th August.
This year the event will be hosted by Peel Sailing Club with two r
aces planned for Saturday and four on Sunday. The event always guarantees an excellent turnout of boats. Last years winners Russell and June Collister will be looking to secure their 6th consecutive victory but the racing is always super close and with some young talent fresh from the Youth Champs making moves through the fleet it should prove a great event.![]()
If you race a dinghy on the Isle of Man make sure you don’t miss out.
Check out MSRs coverage of the event from last year in the MSR Archives, also take a look at the gallery to see a full range of pics by MSRs most prolific photographer, Dave Kneale.
Notice of race, sailing instructions and past dinghy champs winners are available below. Also keep an eye on Peel Sailing Clubs website for further information.

is it my imagination or do rules 15.2/15.3 contradict each other?

Yes they do.
I already asked them what they really wanted say - turns out that if there are six races completed there are two discards, if five are completed there is one discard and if four or less are completed there is no discard.
I guess the instruction was pasted from an earlier version without considering it in detail.
In effect, there is therefore no minimum to constitute the series. Fortunately the weather looks favourable, so the question shouldn’t arise.
