Congratulations to all on getting the winter dinghy racing up and running again at Baldwin.
An excellent report by Ralph Kee in the Courier.
Special thanks to Mike Pridham for his persistence in negotiating with the Water Authority and to Manx Sailing & Crusing Club for taking on the running and administration of the Series.
I hope the dinghy sailors appreciate the efforts of volunteer ODs and Safety Boat crews, as so much depends on these people.
Keep up the good work!
Mike McMahon.

Well done Polished Manx! Other Manx Fastnet entries were Rob Cowell and Edward Whipp, sailing on'White Knight of Wessex', a HOD 35, competing in IRC 3. They collected a 28th in class and 145th overall.

I was sailing an Élan 410, 'Premier Flair' offshore this year, we were sailing in class 2, and worked ourselves into 26th in class and 73rd overall. We were fortunate enough to be quick enough over the first 600 miles of the course to be only 3 miles off when the wind collapsed. This result helped the team to 11th in class for the entire 2011 RORC series.

Hi Aubrey

We normally have mooring buoys in the bay - we will run a bumboat - or you park in Douglas 13 miles or you can try drying out in the harbour. Sea-Pie has legs.

Look forward to seeing you!

Hi There,

We may get one or two sigmas to join you. However I was wondering where we could berth up for the night as your harbour looks more appropriate for bilge keels. Any suggestions?

Regards,

Time passes on but that ageless Tom Dwyer soldiers on. I crewed for Tom in the 1979 Cock in Cork aboard the last wooden 18 Nocturne and note my son Peter is now middle man at the Isle Of Man Cock 2010.
Tom is a wonderfull competitor and deserves special mention from his club and national 18 class.
I think Mike Kneale stayed with us in 1979 and sailed the bastard boat ---- open to correction here.

Thanks to MSCC for the regatta effort - much appreciated. And we'll be back for the Dinghy Champs, if we're spared...
I noticed that Ed was clicking away at his camera on the Ramsey "Peril", I'd be interested to see the snaps, please.
